A Shop with a Mission of Service to Area Parents Grieving the Loss of a Baby
I reopened my etsy shop with this new name and a new purpose. To help me accomplish more in my goal of service to area parents grieving the loss of a baby. It is closely connected with my service/volunteer page http://www.facebook.com/LettersToNara. I organize handmade blankets, hats, clothing, and scrapbook folders made by area women and myself for distribution to hospitals throughout Northern Minnesota and Western North Dakota. These are given to parents grieving the loss of a baby during any stage of gestation or infancy. I also hope to improve my photography skills and camera to hopefully gain enough skill to volunteer my services to grieving parents in our extreme rural area. I do this as part of Nara's legacy. Nara is our daughter who entered this world at 25 weeks + 2 days gestation and was only able to stay for 28 hours. Her name means "Oak". Another one of her legacies is planting oak trees. We planted 200 oak saplings the summer she came and left (2010). Friends and family planted another 300. I've collected and planted many acorns along the way. We keep planting and others keep planting. In this land of 10,000 Lakes, we will have 10,000 Oaks for grandchildren to live on in Nara's honor.
I enjoy creating things and curiously wandering through the woods with a camera & a bag. I took a wonderfully healing and informational photography/self discovery/healing class online http://www.facebook.com/beilluminated that has been very inspiring.
I will soon share nature photography in my shop. More lamp/fan pulls will be coming soon as well as natural findings, and jewelry. Learn more by visiting my shop at http://www.etsy.com/shop/TenThousandOaks
